Anyone else feel like they need to be all things to all their people all the time? Yeah, I see you with your hand up, friend.
Here's your gentle reminder that you can't. It's not possible to be all the things. Yes, we need to be compassionate, we need to be caring, and we need to be kind. We should be there for our friends when they need us.
But it's not our job to be everything. It's not safe, it's not sustainable, and it's not necessary. We need to be better at setting boundaries. We need to remind ourselves that we can't fix all the problems, prevent all the heartache, or cover all the mistakes.
It's just simply not our job. No matter what you have been told or led to believe.
