About

Hey, friend. I'm Carrie.
It's nice to meet you.

Hi, friends! So glad you're here. Since I can't offer you a drink or a cookie, this will have to do for now.

For those I haven't met yet, I'm Carrie. My roots run deep in what once was a small town. Life encouraged a change of scenery, though, and I currently call another no-stoplight town home. If you ever pass the Wayne/Payne exit on I-35, you can aaaalmost see the home I share with my husband, Bailey, and our three pups, Reos, Hercules and Hayzel. We have five horses in the barn right now, two broodmares, a colt named Nip, and a small herd of steers.

Blueprint Barrel Racing is the manifestation of a dream I didn't know I had. God works in mysterious ways, though, and uses all the things we walk through for our good. Now, I get to combine my heart for helping others with the first-hand knowledge of riding, horses, and the struggles and triumphs that accompany life in general. My goal is to build wildly capable, confident and competent competitors both in and out of the arena.

On this blog you'll find some things related specifically to the mental, physical, emotional and technical aspect of barrel racing. However, you'll also find some other random musings that, in all reality, also play a part in our growth as both riders and humans.

Reading and writing have always been an escape for me. I published my first small poem in elementary school and have written a few other random things that have actually been printed.

Furthermore, I feel like I'm supposed to write a book about the disasterous 2021 we had. To help me chase that dream, I'm writing other short musings based on life happenings. The more you practice, the better you get, right?

You'll find those musings on this site. I hope at least one resonates with you.

If you've made it this far, thanks. Know that I appreciate you for just being here and even more for reading my "why." I'd love to get to know you, so drop me a line (or a card!) and let's visit.

Love,

- Carrie

P.S. If you're driving down the highway and pass our exit, give me a shout. I'll meet you in Purcell for ice cream.
